Permit Coordinator

Woodbridge
Job Order: CT-1423

Job Responsibilities:

  • Research, coordinate and apply for building permits in accordance with production schedule
  • Ensure permit applications receive approval to meet construction start deadlines
  • Adhere to policies and procedures required by municipalities
  • Coordinate revision applications and drawings
  • Maintain and update a building permit fees chart based on municipality
  • Ensure all required drawings are available for permit submission
  • Daily tracking and updates of applications, permit issuance and lot information
  • Knowledgeable of building codes, zoning and other regulations
  • Liaison with municipalities, regional, fire departments, etc.
  • Co-ordination of HVAC and truss drawings for permit submission

 

Job Requirements:

  • Architectural Technician/Technology or Construction Management Diploma
  • Post-Secondary education in a related construction field
  • Self-motivated and well organized individual
  • Strong time management, communication, organization and problem solving skills
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with staff, outside contractors, suppliers
  • Understanding of architectural drawings and the ability to interpret them
  • Knowledgeable of Ontario Building Code relating to housing
  • Experience interpreting and understanding Zoning By-Laws
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Proficiency in Autocad is required
  • Ontario Building Code (OBC) Designation - BCIN would be an asset
