Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership in the resolution of technical support issues for level one 
  • Working independently with technical leads to define concepts and under direction of department manager (i.e. assist workflows for user readiness)
  • Keeping with hours of operations of 8:00am to 4:00pm
  • Traveling to the remote sites to assist with any implementations 
  • Maintain, monitor and troubleshoot physical and virtual server infrastructure. 
  • Maintain, monitor and troubleshoot Windows servers
  • Maintain, monitor and troubleshoot district network based services: File and Print services, Email, Active Directory, DHCP/DNS/WINS
  • Maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot messaging and meeting systems
  • Configure, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot windows software deployments
  • Provide and maintain documentation of backup processes and retention periods
  • Develop and provide training and technical documentation for ITS staff members
  • Work with vendors in the research, development and implementation of server technologies
  • Prepare and maintain written documentation of district server and application environments
  • Work with department leaders implementing new software and hardware technologies
  • Work with vendors in the process of troubleshooting escalated incidents
  • Work with Senior Systems Administrator implementing new sever technologies
  • Work with Senior Systems Administrator implementing new computer technologies
  • Participate in appropriate in-service and workshop programs and attend any required meetings
  • Serve as a role model for co-op students and staff in demonstrating positive attitudes, appropriate attire, and an effective work ethic

 

Job Requirements:

  • IT infrastructure knowledge and experience (i.e. migrations, operating system upgrades, desktop, and software rollouts, etc.)
  • Proven track record of creating technical reports/evaluations
  • Proven experience working with Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint) as well as MS Visio (would be very beneficial)
  • Knowledge of the ticketing system 
  • Proven track record of working with staff at all levels within an organization
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills (for interacting with various clients)
  • Excellent time management skills (prioritize work and multi-task amongst competing demands)
  • Excellent attention-to-detail
  • Strong organizational and customer service skills
  • Excellent analytical abilities as well as the ability to think critically
  • Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Highly adaptable personality who is able to manage a busy workload.
  • Strong knowledge of system design, installation, backup, recovery, storage management, methodologies, processes, and tools
  • Ability to write concise and accurate technical documentation.
  • Systems Administration and or Microsoft System Engineer
  • Currently working with Hyper-V (Hands-On)
  • Currently working with Active directory (Hands-On)
  • Currently working with Exchange 2010 (Hands-On)
  • Working knowledge of backup systems
  • Working knowledge of Anti-Virus systems
  • Working knowledge of Citrix
