Enterprise Data Administrator

Job Responsibilities and Duties:

  • The Enterprise Data Administrator is responsible for setting standards and modeling operational and analytical data; structured and unstructured data; data in motion and data at rest.
  • The Enterprise Data Administrator plays a data stewardship role, and is a key participant in the Information Lifecycle Management.
  • The Enterprise Data Administrator is expected to assess new technologies and techniques that can drive improvements in reliability, agility, and business performance.
  • Participate and contribute to team's data governance strategy including Data Architecture Management, Data Development, Database Operations Management, Data Security Management, Reference and Master Data Management, Data Warehousing and & BI Management, Document & Content Management, Meta-data Management, Data Quality Management.
  • Design, construct and deploy database solutions by analyzing client requirement, operations, applications, and programming.
  • Identify and evaluate current data management technologies. Integrate technical functionality (e.g. scalability, security, performance, data backup and recovery, reliability, etc.)
  • Collaborate with the team to guide them through the actualization of the data architecture.
  • Facilitate the establishment of data standards and enforce the implementation.
  • Support developers in the application of data models and standards to ongoing projects.
  • Work with DBA to instantiate physical data models and optimize performance of queries and stored procedures.
  • Maintains database performance by identifying and resolving production and application development problems; calculating optimum values for parameters; evaluating, integrating, and installing new releases; completing maintenance; answering user questions.
  • Installs database systems by developing flowcharts; applying access techniques; coordinating installation actions; documents actions.
  • Provides database support by coding utilities, responding to user questions, and resolving problems.
  • Participates in Business Intelligence projects, and works with analytical group and IT to ensure implementation.
  • Frames and conducts complex analysis and experiments using various statistical techniques.
  • Establish taxonomy to manage unstructured data. Developing strategies to analyze unstructured data.
  • Ensure that compliance and security standards are reflected in the development of data architecture assets.
  • Constantly monitor, refine and report on the performance of data management systems.
  • Implement measures to ensure data accuracy and accessibility.
  • Research new opportunities for data acquisition and build an inventory of data needed to implement the architecture.
  • Maintain a corporate repository of all data architecture artifacts and procedures.
  • Identify sources of enterprise master data and implement master data management strategy, ensuring compliance and proper protection.
  • Work with the team and business data stewards to maintain data integrity by data scrubbing and setup the rules to guide business data entry.
  • Coordinate and facilitate consultation with stakeholders to define business and process requirements.
  • Creates discover-access-distill ("DAD") strategies to bring significant value data understanding.
  • Create a fluid, end-to-end vision for how data will flow through an organization.
  • Accomplish information systems and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
  • Assessing new industry and technology trends and making recommendations on technology direction.
  • Follow standard processes and be constantly aware that the execution of work supports the ultimate goal of providing excellent service to the Company's current and potential customers, including internal customers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Job Skills and Requirements:

  • University degree or college diploma in the field of computer science, statistics or data science.
  • 10 years' experience in database development, operations, maintenance and data governance by determining structural requirements, developing and installing solutions.
  • A minimum of 10 years of database development, operations, maintenance experience, during which both professional and management capabilities have been clearly demonstrated.
  • Extensive expertise in data architecting, development, security management, master data management, data mining, data modeling (physical and logical) and data grooming.
  • 8 years of working experience in relational SQL database Oracle (including but not limited to SQL, PL/SQL, Stored Procedure, Views, Functions).
  • Solid experience in ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes and tools is a must.
  • Ability to fine tune PL/SQL queries with strong trouble shooting skills.
  • Proven skills to design Data Warehouse schema and define ETL for DW. Knowing SAP Business Objects 4.1 (Webi,Universes) is an asset.
  • Extensive experience providing practical direction on information and analytics platforms in conjunction with EDW tools and technologies.
  • Good understanding in SDLC and Agile/Waterfall methodologies.
  • Strong experience in Business Process Modeling (BPM).
  • Extensive experience for collecting business requirement from customers, and transform the requirements into DB data processes and data schema.
  • Experience in and understanding of a wide variety of analytical processes (governance, measurement, information security, etc.).
  • Structured thinker and effective communicator, comfortable with interacting with customers.
  • Proven communication skills (written and verbal) for negotiating and consensus building.
  • Strong interpersonal skills - demonstrate a positive attitude, able to work effectively as part of a project team and foster team collaboration.
  • Superior organizational skills; prioritization, planning and time management.
  • Develops specific metrics for quality and consistency reviews of data.
  • Attention to detail and maintaining high quality standards is a must.
  • Draws conclusions and effectively communicates findings with both technical and non-technical team members, providing feasible solutions to project team and business community.
  • Ability to work independently, establishing strategic objectives, project plans and milestone goals.
  • Determine impacts and remediation migrating to new target schema/instance environment.
  • Ability to comprehend complex technical and logical concepts and adapt quickly to change.
  • The ability to work efficiently, under pressure and to deadlines.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of technology and the Data Protection Act.
  • Ability to work well in a fast paced environment, where the technology is constantly changing.
