Business Process Re-engineering (BPR) Consultant (Contract)

Job Detail:

Our client requires the service of a Business Process Re-engineering (BPR) Consultant – Level 2 to support in a number of activities related to the modernization of the RG-CARS accounting and reporting business applications and processes.

 

Tasks

The BPR tasks will include but are not limited to the following:

  • Review existing work processes and organizational structure;
  • Analyze business functional requirements to identify information, procedures and decision flows;
  • Identify candidate processes for re-design; prototype potential solutions, provide trade-off information and suggest a recommended course of action
  • Identify the modifications to the automated processes
  • Provide expert advice in defining requirements and opportunities for applying efficient and effective solutions
  • Identify and provide preliminary costs of potential options
  • Provide expert advice in developing and integrating process and information models between processes to eliminate information and process redundancies
  • Identify and recommend new processes and organizational structures
  • Provide expert advice on and assist in implementing new processes and organizational changes;
  • Document workflows
  • Use business, workflow and organizational modeling software tools;
  • Validate the recommended solution with the business processes and requirements and with the client;
  • Provide advice and guidance based on business analysis best practices;
  • Provide input to the project manager on change, issue and risk management; and
  • Prepare project decks for status reporting to the working group and executive sponsors.

 

Deliverables

The BPR deliverables will include but are not limited to the following:

  • Manage and maintain the high-level business requirements, including but not limited to:
  • Update high-level business requirements based on discussions with key stakeholders;
  • Review the details of each high-level business requirement against the proposed solution to identify gaps and current versus future functionality.
  • Plan and coordinate the needs and desired outcomes process, including but not limited to:
    •  Prepare a draft work-plan, including objectives, approach and scope, list of key activities and timelines and a communication plan;
    • Review a number of PSPC, CIOB, ABCB, CARS and other relevant documentation that is required for analysis;
    • Draft needs and desired outcomes and prepare presentations for workshops involving management;
    • Conduct workshops with management to validate and finalize needs and desired outcomes
    • Provide advice and expertise to CIOB and CARS stakeholders;
    • Finalize the needs and desired outcomes document with feedback from the client and stakeholders;
  • Plan and coordinate the review of current processes and the development of future processes including but not limited to:
  • Prepare a draft work-plan, including objectives, approach and scope, list of key activities and timelines and a communication plan;
  • Review a number of CIOB, PSPC, ABCB, CARS and other relevant documentation that is required for analysis;
  • Conduct process mapping activities, identifying gaps and providing recommendations on next steps;
  • Conduct working sessions with key stakeholders to collect information;
  • Provide advice and expertise to CIOB and CARS stakeholders;
  • Finalize the future processes document with feedback from the client and stakeholders;

 

Plan and coordinate the identification of detailed requirements, including but not limited to:

 

  • Prepare a draft work-plan, including objectives, approach and scope, list of key activities and timelines and communication plan;
  • Review a number of CIOB, PSPC, ABCB, CARS and other relevant documentation that is required for analysis;
  • Conduct process mapping activities, identifying gaps and providing recommendations on next steps;
  • Conduct working sessions with key stakeholders to collect information, validate and finalize requirements;
  • Provide advice and expertise to CIOB and CARS stakeholders;
  • Finalize the detailed business requirements document with feedback from the client and stakeholders;
  • Provide advice and guidance based on business analysis best practices (e.g. Body of Knowledge® (BABOK) Framework);
  • Participate in workshops and meetings with management and other stakeholders.
  • Prepare reports and briefings to management, as required.

 

Skills Requirement:       

  • Minimum of five years of demonstrated experience as a Business Process Re-engineering (BPR) Consultant review existing work processes and organizational structure, analyzing business functional requirements to identify information, procedures and decision flows.
  • A minimum of five years of demonstrated experience as a Business Process Re-engineering (BPR) Consultant providing expert advice in defining new requirements and opportunities for applying efficient and effective solutions, identifying and providing preliminary costs of potential options.
  • One of the following:
    • A university degree in a related business or technology discipline;
    • A two-year college diploma in a related business or technology discipline and a minimum of 2 years of experience in a related business or technology discipline;
    • A university degree in any field and a minimum of five years in a related business or technology discipline;
    • A minimum of fifteen years of experience in a related business or technology discipline. When requested, a copy of the college diploma or university degree must be provided to the Technical Authority.
