Administration roles include the installation, configuration, and patching of the company RDBMs' (Oracle, MS-SQL, DB/2). Design, implement, and maintain database security to ensure the highest standards to availability, resilience, integrity, and performance across the CRS.
Assess and develop long-term strategic goals for databases in conjunction with data owners and department managers.
Work with application development staff to develop database architectures, coding standards, and quality assurance policies and procedures.
Design and implement redundant systems, policies, and procedures for disaster recovery and data archiving to ensure effective protection and integrity of data assets.
Conduct research and make recommendations on database products, services, protocols, and standards in support of procurement and development efforts.
Consult with Senior Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence Architect to provide a strategic database direction for the organization.
Research & evaluate new releases of the database as well as third party products in order to determine the appropriate tools for the organization. Conduct research into database issues, standards, products as well as client needs, regulations, technologies, and data conditions as required.
Coordinate and monitor major changes in policy, budget, schedule and project content. Determine prioritization of projects.
Manage a team of professionals that includes Project Managers and Program Managers.
Degree in Computer Science / Engineering.
10+ years of IT project or program management experience, out of which 5 years of employee management responsibilities.
7-10 years of hands-on experience working as database administrator with Oracle / MS-SQL / DB2 in an enterprise environment with multiple database servers, including 5years hands-on database tuning and troubleshooting experience.
Certifications in Oracle (OCP/OCM) or MS-SQL (MCSE Data management and analytics / MCSA DBA) or IBM DB2 required.
